On December 12th, 2024, the historical delegation of ENEA belonging to ASSISi met in Bologna in a restaurant with a significant name: L’Umarell. In the Bolognese dialect, Umarells are men of retirement age who spend their time watching construction sites. The term has become internationally used.
The dinner meeting was attended by: Alessandro Martelli (ASSISi founding President from 2001 to 2007), Paolo Clemente (ASSISi President from 2019 to 2023), Massimo Forni (ASSISi General Secretary from 2001 to 2019), and past ASSISi members Bruno Spadoni, Maurizio Indirli, Giordano-Bruno Arato, Alessandro Poggianti and Bruno Carpani.
During the dinner, between a bowl of “Tortellini in Brodo” and a “Cotoletta alla Bolognese”, Paolo Clemente was finally able to present Alessandro Martelli with the award given to him by the society during the 18WCSI held in Antalya, Turkiye in November 2023 (when Paolo was president of ASSISi) for his excellent contribution to the development and application of modern anti-seismic technologies in Italy and around the world.
Congratulations to Alessandro Martelli for the recognition, with the hope that ENEA can continue to contribute to the development and application of modern anti-seismic technologies in Italy and around the world.
