Organized by Conference Chair Professor Gian Paolo Cimellaro, Politecnico di Torino and Co-Chair Professor Ying Zhou, Tongji University (both ASSISi Directors).
The conference is intended to raise the awareness of the devastating effects of natural hazards and disasters and the fragile status of infrastructure systems, and to suggest strategies that can foster new paradigms at the interface of critical infrastructure and the economic and social impact of resilience.
Conference sessions will be held in Turin at the Politecnico di Torino with its modern meeting facilities and, on the last day, at the Joint Research Centre in Ispra, the third biggest European Commission site after Brussels and Luxembourg, located by Lake Maggiore, about 130 km from Turin.
